Facilities Technician
Company: Tune Outdoor
Location: Denver, CO
Job Summary
Tune Outdoor is a growing company based in Denver, CO. We build lightweight, modular truck campers and outdoor equipment. As a small, close-knit team, we embrace a "one for all and all for one" approach, fostering teamwork and cross-department collaboration.
We're looking for a hands-on Facilities Technician to keep our ~105,000 sq ft manufacturing facility running so production never waits on the building. You'll handle day-to-day maintenance, equipment upkeep, and facility services, and support buildouts as we scale. The ideal candidate has maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or warehouse setting and likes fixing things themselves.
Key Responsibilities
- Building Systems: Perform day-to-day maintenance and repair on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, compressed air, lighting, and dock doors. Coordinate outside contractors for repairs beyond in-house scope, such as roofing.
- Preventive Maintenance: Run the preventive maintenance schedule for facility systems and material handling equipment, including forklifts and scissor lifts, and keep records current.
- Equipment Readiness: Keep forklifts and other fuel-powered equipment fueled and ready for the start of each shift.
- Safety: Keep fire extinguishers, exits, eyewash stations, and walkways inspection-ready. Report hazards and support OSHA and fire inspections.
- Facility Security: Oversee physical keys, monitor alarms and camera feeds, and act as primary point of contact for emergency responders and police or security contractors. Recommend updates to entry protocols, surveillance systems, and overall physical security measures.
- Vendor Coordination: Schedule and oversee service vendors (janitorial, waste, pest control, fire and life safety, Amazon Subscribe & Save), and flag performance issues.
- Facility Projects: Support buildouts, layout changes, and equipment installs, including prep, hands-on work, and contractor coordination. Help maintain accurate maps as warehouse layouts, processes, and equipment change.
- Waste & Recycling: Manage dumpsters, recycling, and scrap, including pickups, container sizing, and clean, compliant waste areas.
- Facility Opening: Open the office and warehouse daily, including lights, and doors.
- Truck Cleaning: Wash and detail trucks to standard, and keep the wash area and supplies in order.
- Office, Warehouse & Common Areas: Keep restrooms, breakroom, and common areas stocked and serviced. Sweep and scrub warehouse floors on a regular schedule.
- Collaboration: Support production and department leads with space, equipment, rentals and infrastructure needs.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of facilities or maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or warehouse environment.
- Hands-on troubleshooting of commercial building systems (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, compressed air).
- Basic carpentry, drywall, and general repair skills.
- Familiarity with OSHA and general facility safety practices.
- Comfortable tracking work orders and PM schedules in Google Workspace or similar tools.
- Reliable, self-directed, and able to prioritize without close supervision.
- Preferred: forklift or aerial lift certification.
- Preferred: general contracting or construction experience.
- A plus: background in aluminum fabrication, automotive, or overlanding.
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive tasks.
- Stand, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Work in varied conditions, including dust and noise.
- Climb ladders and operate scissor lifts and forklifts.
Job Type: Full-time, hourly (non-exempt)
