Factory Manager

About the role

• Oversees all operations within a plastic injection molding and mold-making facility.

• Ensures production efficiency, product quality, safety compliance, manpower management, and continuous improvement throughout manufacturing processes.

• Coordinates cross-functional teams, optimizes workflows, and ensures customer specifications and delivery schedules are met.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day plastic injection molding and mold-making operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety
• Plan and schedule production to meet output targets and reduce downtime
• Ensure compliance with safety standards (e.g., OSHA) and company policies
• Optimize use of machines, molds, and resources for cost-effective production
• Lead, train, supervise, and evaluate production staff, technicians, and supervisors
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and team collaboration
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and manage corrective actions for defects
• Monitor key KPIs such as scrap rates, productivity, and efficiency
• Oversee mold maintenance, calibration, and tooling requirements
• Troubleshoot molding issues and provide technical guidance.
• Coordinate with tooling dept. and external vendors for repairs or new mold development.
• Implement Lean/Kaizen/5S initiatives to improve processes and reduce costs

Qualification

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Industrial Management, Plastics/Polymer Technology, or a related field
• At least 10 years of experience in the plastic injection molding, mold-making, or automotive parts industry, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in factory management or managerial-level team leadership
• Strong knowledge of factory management, production (plastic injection molding processes), tooling/mold management, maintenance, quality management, cost control, delivery performance, and occupational health and safety
• Good understanding of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 standards, as well as customer-specific requirements
• Knowledge of ERP/MES systems, production scheduling, and maintenance planning
• Experience in managing teams and production workflows
• Experience in in Japanese companies will be considered an advantage
• Strong analytical, decision-making, communication, and leadership skills
• Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement certifications
