FACTORY OPERATIONS MANAGER

We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Factory Operation Manager to lead and oversee the overall factory operations of our manufacturing facility.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient production operations, product quality, food safety, manpower utilisation, equipment reliability, cost control, and compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

This is a key management position suitable for a hands-on leader who is able to manage people, processes, production targets and operational challenges in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Factory and Production Operations

• Plan, coordinate and oversee daily factory operations to ensure smooth and efficient production.
• Ensure production targets, schedules and output requirements are achieved.
• Monitor production performance, productivity, efficiency and operational downtime.
• Identify operational issues and implement timely corrective actions.
• Optimise manpower, machinery, materials and production processes.
• Ensure production activities are carried out according to approved SOPs and work instructions.

Manpower Management

• Lead, manage and develop production, warehouse, maintenance and other factory personnel.
• Plan manpower requirements according to production needs.
• Monitor employee attendance, discipline, productivity and performance.
• Develop supervisors and team leaders to strengthen factory management capabilities.
• Promote teamwork, accountability and a strong performance culture.

Maintenance and Equipment

• Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure machinery and equipment are properly maintained
• monitor machine breakdowns, downtime and preventive maintenance activities.

Cost and Productivity Control

• Monitor production costs, wastage, material usage and overall factory efficiency.
• Monitor raw material and packaging material utilisation.
• Drive initiatives to reduce watage, downtime and operational losses.

Compliance, Safety and Workplace Standards

• Ensure factory operations comply with Company policies, SOPs and applicable laws and regulations.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment.
• Ensure employees follow workplace safety requirements and established procedures.

Continuous Improvement

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across factory operations.
• Analyse production data and operational KPIs to identify areas for improvement.
• Establish and monitor operational KPIs to improve factory performance.

Reporting and Management

• Prepare regular reports on production performance, manpower, downtime, wastage, quality and other operational KPIs.
• Provide management with recommendations and improvement plans.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in or related field.
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in factory or manufacturing operations, preferably within the FMCG / Food Manufacturing Industry.
• Proven experience in managing production teams and factory operations.
• Strong understanding of production planning, manufacturing processes, quality control and food safety requirements.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willing to work according to factory operational requirements when necessary.
