Factory Supervisor

About the role

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for the day-to-day running and performance of the manufacturing floor. You'll lead an experienced team of signmakers, making sure they have what they need to get the job done, keeping production moving and holding the team accountable for output, quality and timeframes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operation of the Auckland manufacturing floor
• Review the production schedule and make sure jobs are ready to go
• Allocate work and ensure signmakers have the right materials, components and job information
• Keep the team focused and productive throughout the day
• Monitor progress against required manufacturing times and quantities
• Ensure products are manufactured to BOMs, SOPs and required quality standards
• Carry out regular quality checks and address issues before they become rework
• Identify bottlenecks and practical ways to improve workflow and output
• Work alongside the team when required — this is a hands-on leadership role
• Support and develop an experienced team while setting clear expectations and holding people accountable

About you

• Experience supervising a manufacturing or production team
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• A good understanding of quality control and production standards
• The confidence to lead an established team and hold people accountable
• A strong work ethic and willingness to get stuck in when needed
• The ability to understand production times, BOMs and material requirements
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• A practical approach to improving workflow and productivity
• Good computer skills and the ability to work with production systems
• A strong commitment to health and safety
