About the Role

As a Field Application Engineer (FAE) for Industrial Automation (IA), you will serve as a key technical expert across Southeast Asia (SEA). In this role, you will deliver comprehensive technical services, drive total automation solutions, and resolve complex customer and application challenges to elevate market support. You will also collaborate closely with internal teams, regional factories, distributors, and partners to introduce emerging technologies, upskill regional talent, and bridge customer feedback with R&D and Sales.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert technical services for Industrial Automation (IA) products across SEA, delivering complete end-to-end solutions and resolving application challenges.
• Handle customer inquiries promptly and propose optimized, application-tailored solutions.
• Collaborate with regional FAEs and Product Managers (PM) to design and deliver complete solution proposals covering Motion Automation (MA), Factory Automation (FA), and Process Automation (PA).
• Assist AMBU with accurate product selection, testing, and technical problem resolution.
• Support the introduction of new Smart Manufacturing (DSM) technologies and solutions for DET factories.
• Provide dedicated technical support for DSM standardized machinery and equipment.
• Design and deliver regular product and technical training sessions for customers, distributors, and System Integrator (SI) partners.
• Drive continuous technical skill development across dealers, regional FAEs, and AMBU colleagues.
• Author and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including application notes, integration references, and setup guides.
• Actively promote BU Industrial Automation solutions and region-customized solutions throughout SEA.
• Gather market trend feedback, competitor insight, and customer functional requests to feed directly into Sales and R&D product development roadmaps.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (EE), Control Engineering, Automation, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 1- 3 years of hands-on technical experience within the Industrial Automation sector.
• Strong knowledge of key automation architectures: PLC, HMI, Servo systems, and SCADA.
• Solid background in industrial communication protocols: Modbus, CANopen, Profinet, EtherNet/IP (EIP), and EtherCAT.
• Strong troubleshooting abilities combined with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interface effectively with cross-functional teams and R&D.
• Proven presentation skills and structured technical documentation capability.
• Professional fluency in English (spoken and written).
