Job Description: FAE Manager Embedded Software Tools (Qt, Wind River, COTS) Position: Manager Field Application Engineering Location: Bangalore Reports to: Head Embedded Business Employment Type: Full Time Job Summary The FAE Manager Embedded Software Tools will lead a team of Field Application Engineers supporting Qt (Development & QA tools), Wind River portfolio, and other COTS embedded software solutions. This role combines technical leadership, customer engagement, pre-sales strategy, and business growth enablement. The manager will ensure successful tool adoption, solution delivery, and customer success, while driving revenue impact, competency development, and OEM/vendor alignment. Key Responsibilities 1. Team Leadership & Capability Building • Lead, mentor, and scale a team of FAEs supporting Qt, Wind River, and COTS tools • Define competency roadmap across: o Qt Framework, Qt Creator, Qt for MCUs o Qt QA tools (Squish, Coco) o Wind River (VxWorks, Helix, Linux, Simics) o Other embedded COTS Hardware • Establish KPIs for productivity, customer success, and technical depth 2. Customer Engagement & Solution Consulting • Act as senior technical escalation point for key strategic customers • Drive architecture-level discussions with engineering leaders and decision-makers • Support customers in: o Embedded GUI development (Qt) o Software validation & test automation (Qt QA tools) o RTOS & virtualization solutions (Wind River) • Ensure successful tool evaluation POC deployment production adoption lifecycle 3. Pre-sales & Business Support • Partner with sales teams to drive technical wins and revenue growth • Own technical qualification, demos, and solution positioning • Lead large and strategic POCs, benchmarks, and competitive evaluations • Support: o RFP/RFI responses o Technical proposals o Customer presentations and workshops 4. Solution Design and proposing appropriate tools • Guide teams and customers in finalizing line items from following portfolio. o Embedded UI/UX architectures using Qt o Automated test frameworks using Qt QA (Squish, Coco) o RTOS-based or Linux-based systems using Wind River o CoreEL COTS • Recommend best practices for: o CI/CD integration o Test automation & coverage o Performance optimization o Safety & compliance (where applicable) 5. Vendor & Product Alignment • Act as the primary technical interface for principals (Qt Group, Wind River, etc.) • Align on: o Product roadmap o Joint account strategy o Training & certification plans • Provide structured feedback from customers to influence product enhancements 6. Training, Enablement & Thought Leadership • Conduct advanced technical workshops, seminars, and webinars • Build reusable assets: o Demo kits o Reference architectures o Technical guides • Position the organization as a trusted advisor in embedded software tools 7. Operational Excellence • Establish standardized processes for: o POC execution o Issue resolution o Customer onboarding • Track and report: o Tool adoption metrics o Customer satisfaction o Technical win rate Education Qualifications • Bachelors or master’s degree in: o Electronics / Electrical Engineering o Computer Science o Embedded Systems or related field Experience • 8–15 years in embedded systems, with: o 3–5 years in leadership or team management roles • Strong experience with at least two of the following domains: o Qt framework / UI development o Software testing & QA tools (e.g., Squish, Coco, LDRA, Parasoft, Vector) o RTOS / Embedded Linux (preferably Wind River VxWorks / Linux) • Experience in customer-facing roles (FAE, Solution Architect, Consultant) Technical Skills • Embedded systems expertise: o RTOS, Linux, firmware development o Device drivers / BSP understanding Or Qt-Development tools • Strong knowledge of: o C, C++, Python o Software development lifecycle (SDLC) • Familiarity with: o CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.) o Communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, Ethernet) • Exposure to: o Aero Space and Defence market is preferred. Soft Skills • Strong leadership and team-building capabilities • Excellent customer-facing and presentation skills • Ability to influence CXO / senior engineering stakeholders • Strategic thinking with business acumen • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Preferred Qualifications • Hands-on experience with: o Qt (UI development, QML, embedded platforms) o Qt QA tools (Squish, Coco) o Wind River (VxWorks, Helix platform) • Experience in tool sales support or technical pre-sales strategy • Exposure to functional safety standards (ISO 26262, IEC 61508) • Experience working with global OEMs or Tier-1 customers Success Metrics (KPIs) • Revenue impact through technical wins • POC-to-conversion ratio • Customer satisfaction (CSAT) • Team competency & certifications • Adoption of strategic tools (Qt, Wind River, COTS)
