FARM MANAGER

Position Overview

Seeking an experienced, knowledgeable, and results-driven Farm Manager to oversee and manage the daily operations of a commercial ruminant livestock farm. Responsible for ensuring efficient livestock production, animal health and welfare, financial management, manpower productivity, farm maintenance, regulatory compliance, and overall farm profitability. Must possess strong practical knowledge of ruminant farming, with the ability to implement effective Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), resolve operational challenges, manage resources efficiently, and achieve measurable production targets.

Job Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant hands-on experience in commercial livestock or ruminant farming, preferably including at least 2 years in a supervisory or farm management role.

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science, Animal Husbandry, Agriculture, Veterinary Science, Livestock Production, Agribusiness, or a related discipline is preferred.

• Candidates with extensive and proven practical experience in commercial ruminant farm management may also be considered, even without formal tertiary qualifications.

• Understanding of livestock productivity indicators, feed utilisation, growth performance, and farm operational efficiency.
