Love working with livestock and being outdoors?

Join Goulburn Valley Water's Farming Operations Team and play a hands-on role in operating and maintaining a diverse farming enterprise at our Shepparton Wastewater Management Facility.

Working with sheep, cattle, irrigation systems, pastures and cropping operations, you'll play an important role in supporting sustainable farming practices while helping deliver efficient and productive farming outcomes.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about agriculture, animal welfare and working as part of a close-knit team, while benefiting from the security and career opportunities offered by a large regional organisation.

Qualifications in Agriculture and/or relevant farm experience will support your success in this role, along with a strong commitment to safety and sustainable farming practices.

About your new role...

Goulburn Valley Water (GVW) operates a farming enterprise across multiple locations, delivering sustainable, efficient and profitable commercial farming operations. You may also have opportunities to work across GVW's operational districts, from Cobram to Marysville, depending on business needs.

Your main responsibilities will include irrigation, livestock (animal husbandry), pasture management, cropping and general farm maintenance.

About you...

  • Experience in a commercial farming environment, including livestock, pasture and cropping operations, will be highly regarded
  • A passion for animal health and wellbeing
  • Knowledge of farming operations, including irrigation, pasture management, general farm maintenance and animal husbandry
  • A strong commitment to workplace health and safety

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Physical capability to perform farming/wastewater related tasks
  • Minimum Year 11 education
  • Cert 3 in Agriculture (or willingness to undertake and complete supported study)
  • Willingness to participate in after-hours, weekend and seasonal farming activities when required
  • Please note all applicants must be an Australian Citizen, permanent resident or hold a visa permitting you to work in Australia and hold a current driver's licence.
