Farm Operator – Hydroponic / Vertical Farm

Job Summary

We are looking for hardworking, reliable, and detail-oriented Farm Operators to support the daily operations of our indoor hydroponic and vertical farming facility.The Farm Operator will assist with seeding, transplanting, crop monitoring, harvesting, cleaning, packing, and general farm activities while following established procedures for crop care, hygiene, food safety, and workplace safety.Previous hydroponics or vertical farming experience is an advantage, but training will be provided to suitable candidates.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily farm activities according to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Assist with seed sowing, germination, nursery operations, transplanting, and crop maintenance.
• Monitor crops for healthy growth, pests, diseases, nutrient deficiencies, and other abnormalities.
• Check and record basic environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, pH, and EC as instructed.
• Assist the Fertigation Specialist with nutrient preparation, irrigation, and fertigation activities.
• Operate basic hydroponic and farm equipment safely and correctly.
• Monitor water and nutrient flow and report any abnormalities to the supervisor.
• Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of growing areas, equipment, trays, channels, tanks, and work areas.
• Harvest crops according to established quality and harvesting procedures.
• Handle, sort, trim, weigh, and pack harvested produce as required.
• Maintain proper hygiene and food-handling practices throughout farm operations.
• Assist with inventory checks for seeds, growing materials, fertilizers, packaging materials, and other farm supplies.
• Report damaged equipment, crop issues, leaks, pests, diseases, or other operational problems immediately.
• Assist with preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting of farm equipment.
• Follow instructions from the Farm Operations Manager, Agricultural/Hydroponics Engineer, and Fertigation Specialist.
• Maintain accurate daily records of farm activities, crop quantities, harvesting, and other assigned tasks.
• Support loading, unloading, movement, and proper storage of farm materials when required.
• Follow all HSE, food safety, hygiene, and biosecurity procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
• Perform other farm-related duties assigned by management.

Requirements

• High school diploma, vocational certificate, or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in farming, agriculture, hydroponics, greenhouse operations, nursery operations, or food production is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of plant care and agricultural practices.
• Physically fit and able to perform repetitive and standing work.
• Comfortable working in an indoor controlled-environment facility.
• Willingness to work with water, fertilizers, plants, and farm equipment.
• Good attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs.
• Reliable, punctual, hardworking, and responsible.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Basic English communication skills are preferred.
• ONLY those candidates who have demonstrated experience in CEA/Hydroponics will be considered.

Working Conditions

• Indoor controlled-environment farm.
• May require standing and walking for extended periods.
• Repetitive activities such as planting, transplanting, harvesting, and packing.
• May require working in controlled temperature and humidity conditions.
• May include weekends, shifts, or overtime depending on farm production requirements.
