Farm Supervisor cum Tractor Driver

Role & responsibilities

West India Food Factory Pvt Ltd needs a working Farm Supervisor cum Tractor Driver for our growing farm at Urna (near Machhiwara) and Barthala, Ludhiana district.

This is a hands-on job. You drive the tractor, you lead the field team, and you work with your hands alongside them. You are judged on work done right and on time, not on hours standing and watching.

We want someone sharp and switched on: you notice problems early, fix what you can, and tell the Crop Manager straight away. The farm is growing, and so can you.

What you will do:

• Drive and look after our tractors: ploughing, puddling, sowing, trolley work, spraying as planned

• Do the daily tractor check before the first start; keep tractor, farm vehicle and equipment clean and greased (oil, tyres, minor repairs) and book servicing through the Crop Manager

• Give each worker a clear task in the morning, then check the finished work

• When the tractor isn't needed, work alongside the team: hand weeding, knapsack spraying, irrigation, transplanting and harvest

• Run the irrigation turns and check fields for pests, disease and water problems

• Check fields at both sites and post photos of tractor work

• Send photos and short notes of the day's tractor work and fuel in the farm WhatsApp group

• Drive the farm vehicle to collect inputs from dealers and for market visits when the Crop Manager sends you

Crops: rice, basmati, wheat, potato, tomato, and a small organic block.

What you need:

• 12th pass (minimum). ITI is a plus.

• 2+ season driving a tractor on farm work (ploughing, puddling, sowing, trolley)

• Daily tractor checks: oil, coolant, grease, tyres, air filter

• Read and write Punjabi, and speak Hindi (many seasonal workers speak Hindi)

• Use WhatsApp and a phone camera

• Basic knowledge of crops, irrigation and farm machinery

• Honest, on time, fit for outdoor work

• Live near Machhiwara / Samrala, or move here (accommodation can be given)

Good to have: reads basic English (our task app and form labels are in English), seed drill or potato planter, sprayer setting, small repairs, has led a labour gang, first-aid training.

Spraying is done only from the Crop Manager's written spray plan and the product label, with full safety kit. We never ask you to guess a dose.

We offer: 25,000 to 35,000 per month fixed, yearly increment linked to results (not guaranteed), Monday to Saturday (some Sundays in busy seasons, with another day off), company phone for work photos, accommodation if needed.

Interview includes a practical test on the tractor.
