Farm Systems Coach

About the role

Dairy Holdings success has been built on exceptional people, disciplined execution and a commitment to farming system that consistently delivers results. As the business continues to grow, Dairy Holdings is investing further in the technical capability that underpins that success through the appointment of a Farm Systems Coach.

This is an influential technical role focused on supporting farm performance across New Zealand's largest dairy farming businesses. Working alongside the Farm Systems Manager, Farm Supervisors, Farm Managers, Contract Milkers and Sharemilkers, you will play a key role in ensuring the Dairy Holdings farming system continues to deliver consistent and repeatable results across the business.

Guided by the established Dairy Holdings farming system, you will provide specialist expertise across pasture management, feed planning, reproduction, body condition scoring, herd performance and livestock management. Using farm performance data, benchmarking, on farm observations and technical analysis, you will identify opportunities to improve performance and productivity, develop practical improvement plans, and work alongside farm operators to ensure those initiatives are successfully implemented and sustained

What makes this opportunity particularly attractive is the ability to influence performance at scale. Dairy Holdings has long recognised that sustainable business performance is achieved through the consistent execution of proven farming disciplines rather than chasing short-term gains. The Farm Systems Coach role sits at the centre of this philosophy, helping ensure that technical knowledge and operational disciplines continue to deliver results across the portfolio.

Your background may include farm consultancy, advisory, extension, farm systems, research, technical services or farm leadership role. Whatever your background, you'll be naturally curious, analytical and motivated by helping farming businesses achieve better outcomes through the application of sound technical principles and practical decision making. You'll have a strong understanding of pasture-based farming systems along with examples of where you've improved farm performance and productivity through effective farm systems. You'll also know there are few silver bullets in farming and that long-term gains come from getting the fundamentals right.

More information on the role can be found in the Position Description. More importantly, however, success at Dairy Holdings comes down to fit. In your cover letter we'd like to understand what attracts you to this opportunity, where your technical passions lie, and how your experience has prepared you to influence performance across a large-scale and highly successful dairy farming business.
