What they need

The Opportunity:

Capgemini is seeking a Engagement Manager level executive to drive CG’ s FCC (Crypto) delivery agenda in India. The ideal candidate should have a ‘Builder + Execute’ mindset, who is not only a strong leader who can articulate a vision but one who can also drive seamless first-time right execution of that vision in a very concrete manner that results in tangible business outcomes (Op Excellence, bookings, revenue, market recognition).

The role demands a high level of autonomy; a strong appetite to drive operational change and overcome organizational complexity; and a high level of drive to build and run a business from its current very nascent stage to a potential multimillion scale operating business.

Responsibilities include:

  • Financial Crime Engagement Manager will be responsible for leading and enhancing the organization's Crypto FCC operations to detect, investigate, and mitigate risks related to money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud, sanctions breaches, and other financial crimes.
  • Lead and manage a global crypto compliance operations team of 100+ professionals, including AML/KYC Team Leads, Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) Analysts, Blockchain Investigators, KYB Specialists, and Quality Assurance Analysts, ensuring operational excellence and regulatory compliance including:
  • Identification, assessment, and mitigation of AML/CTF risks associated with cryptocurrency activities, including on-chain transactions, wallet-to-wallet transfers, mixer exposure, privacy coins, sanctioned wallets, darknet marketplace activity, and transactions involving high-risk jurisdictions.
  • Oversee and enhance transaction monitoring programs designed to identify and investigate complex financial crime and market abuse typologies, including layering, structuring, wash trading, pump-and-dump schemes, NFT market manipulation, terrorist financing, sanctions evasion, mixer and tumbler activity, and exposure to decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols.
  • Partner closely with client compliance, legal, and risk teams to ensure adherence to global regulatory frameworks, including FATF Recommendations, OFAC sanctions, FinCEN guidance, MiCA regulations, and broader Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) obligations.
  • Drive governance, risk management, quality assurance, and continuous process improvement initiatives to strengthen compliance controls, enhance operational efficiency, and support evolving regulatory expectations across global markets.
  • Provide strategic leadership to stakeholders by delivering actionable insights on emerging crypto-related financial crime risks, sanctions exposure, and regulatory developments impacting digital asset ecosystems.
  • Ensure standard processes across roles and responsibilities of the AML/KYC team while meeting / exceeding overall engagement’s SLAs/KPIs across quality and throughput
  • Analyze and review quality trends and measures, reporting feedback to internal & client leadership. Deliver projects on time, on budget, with exceptional quality under tight deadlines & minimal supervision
  • Provide operational updates, raise issues or escalations to senior leadership at CG and clients
  • Act as a subject matter resource on the Crypto KYC/AML and account opening policies and procedures for the team specific to the NA, EU or APAC jurisdictions being supported
  • Coach staff on the evaluation of client AML/reputational risk, including the identification of key issues and related mitigates, conducting independent research, verifying appropriate risk profile, and making independent risk assessment recommendations

Our Ideal Candidate will have:

  • 15+ years of experience in AML, Financial Crime Compliance, Transaction Monitoring, SAR reporting or Investigations. 10+ years of people management experience including managing Crypto operations
  • CAMS certification or any industry recognized AML certification will be a plus
  • Exceptionally fluent in English (spoken and written)
  • University graduate / postgraduate
  • Handled large scale AML/KYC operations for multiple clients from solution creation, account set up to delivery
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills would be a significant plus
  • Maintain a working knowledge of anti-money laundering related requirements including BSA, USA Patriot Act, OFAC, SEC, FINRA, and other applicable US, UK, EMEA and International regulations
  • Actively engage in the identification of potential process shortcomings or required enhancements

Key Technical & Behavioral Competencies include:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with platforms & tools like Pega, Fenergo, Actimize, World Check, Lexis Nexis & RDC
  • Demonstrates ability to leverage blockchain analytics platforms to conduct complex investigations involving illicit fund flows, sanctions exposure, darknet activity, mixer usage, fraud, and other crypto-related financial crime typologies.
  • Excellent commercial savviness and executive presence, superb leadership and team-building skills with the ability to build consensus and achieve goals through collaboration rather than direct line authority
  • A positive, results-oriented style, evidenced by listening, motivating, delegating, influencing, and monitoring the work being done
  • Strong customer orientation, decision-making, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrates ability and willingness to partner internally and externally to achieve appropriate objectives for clients and for Capgemini
