Duties

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and mobility support
• Support clients in developing social skills and behavioral management strategies tailored to individual needs
• Provide transportation assistance using standard passenger cars for appointments, community outings, or errands
• Implement behavior management plans and positive reinforcement techniques to promote client progress
• Communicate effectively with clients using various methods, including American Sign Language if applicable
• Monitor and document client progress, behaviors, and any incidents accurately and promptly
• Ensure a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols, including first aid and CPR procedures when necessary

Qualifications

• Experience working with individuals with autism, neurodevelopmental disorders, or disabilities preferred
• Knowledge of special education principles and behavioral health practices
• Ability to operate a standard passenger car safely and responsibly
• Background in home and community care environments is highly desirable
• Familiarity with assisting clients with cognitive disabilities and supporting their independence
• Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration with team members
• Certification in first aid and CPR required or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Personal transportation assistance experience is a plus
• Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support individuals with disabilities and promote their well-being
