Female Support Worker Required

About the role

Greater Northern Community Services (GNCS) is seeking a caring, reliable and experienced Support Worker to support a 24-year-old female participant in Cranbourne. The role involves providing personalised support to enable community participation, independence and wellbeing. You will work Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with community access and social outings
• Provide transport and companionship to appointments
• Offer companionship and emotional support
• Assist with light household cleaning
• Assist with light washing and laundry
• Support meal preparation and cooking
• Encourage independence and daily living skills
• Support the participant to maintain a positive and structured daily routine

About you

• Patient, compassionate and reliable
• Experience supporting participants with intellectual disability and complex mental health needs
• Good understanding of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression and anxiety
• Knowledge and confidence in EpiPen use and responding appropriately to allergic reactions
• Comfortable supporting a participant with asthma
• Able to build a trusting and consistent professional relationship
• NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Working With Children Check
• First Aid & CPR
• Current Driver's Licence
• Reliable vehicle with comprehensive car insurance
