What they need
Performance Engineer FIA F2
We are a team racing in the F4, FIA F3 and FIA F2 categories. We are seeking a skilled Performance Engineer to join our FIA Formula 2 motorsport team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to work at the cutting edge of motorsport technology, ensuring our race cars perform at peak levels on and off the track.
Role Overview
The Performance Engineer is primarily responsible for all inboard and outboard systems, reliability and performance aspects of one car during all events. He will work closely with, and under the supervision of, the Race Engineer, Lead Engineer, Team Manager, and Racing Director. At the workshop, he will be responsible of car systems maintenance and will participate in all tasks related to car and setup development, simulation and DIL activities, run planning, data analysis, car build specifications, bench tests, lifing, general event preparation and reporting.
Our engineering structure also includes a remote team dedicated to data, simulation, aero, and vehicle dynamics performance analysis, as well as a software development department.
Requirements
- Strong team player with excellent leadership and communication skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role within the same or a higher-level championship
- Ability to make quick, data-driven, and rational decisions under tight deadlines
- Hands-on experience managing electrical and data logging systems (looms, sensors, repairs and welding), CAD design and 3D printing, bench testing for parts stiffness, damper or clutch characterization, metrology and 3D scanning
- Experience running racing simulations and professional DIL, with background in car, tire, and aero models
- An Engineering or Master's degree with strong knowledge of vehicle dynamics, tires, and aerodynamics
- Extensive experience with racing tools (data software such as MM, data management, simulation tools, KPIs, etc.)
- Ability to travel regularly to all race and test events
This is a strongly team-oriented role requiring a genuine team-first mentality. The candidate is expected to put the interests and overall performance of the team above personal convenience, support colleagues proactively, and contribute wherever assistance is required. They must be flexible and willing to undertake reasonable additional duties beyond their immediate responsibilities, particularly during demanding event periods, unexpected operational situations, or whenever doing so is necessary to support teammates and achieve the team's objectives.
