Fiber and Cable Installation Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Fiber and Cable Installation Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting fiber optic and telecommunications cables across residential and commercial sites. Responsibilities

• Install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cables and telecommunications network cables in various settings.
• Set up and configure network equipment including Cisco routers, Ethernet switches, and telephony systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Use hand tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, cable cutters, and power tools to complete installations accurately.
• Perform electrical work related to low voltage wiring, grounding, and equipment testing using voltmeters and ohmmeters.
• Operate company vehicles safely while transporting equipment and materials to job sites.
• Conduct field service visits for residential telecommunications installations, satellite dish setups, and service upgrades.
• Follow safety protocols during outdoor work activities involving ladder use, mechanical knowledge applications, and electrical systems.
• Document all installation activities thoroughly through reports and logs for quality assurance purposes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working as a telecommunications infrastructure technician or in a similar field service role involving cable installation.
• Strong knowledge of fiber splicing techniques, copper wiring, Ethernet cabling, and low voltage electrical systems.
• Familiarity with network installation procedures including configuring Cisco routers and testing telecommunication equipment.
• Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, ladders safely, and perform outdoor physical work comfortably.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot electrical issues using voltmeters or ohmmeters.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating a company vehicle is preferred.
• Physical stamina to perform outdoor work in varying weather conditions; experience with outdoor electrical or cable work is a plus.

Pay: $600.00 - $1,200.00 per week
