Fiber Design Engineer

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Fiber Design Engineer with project management expertise and the ability to develop cost-optimized high-level and low-level Outside Plant (OSP) designs. The role focuses on creating design solutions for telecommunications networks, particularly using GPON technology. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, generate Bill of Materials (BOM), and ensure smooth integration of OSP designs with network architecture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop OSP design solutions with a focus on GPON technology.
• Gather and analyze data for OSP design and planning assessments.
• Create detailed design documentation, including fiber optic cable routes and equipment placements.
• Collaborate with internal teams to integrate OSP designs into overall network architecture.
• Optimize designs for performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Stay updated on technological advancements and trends in GPON technology.
• Provide technical support during project implementation and resolve OSP-related issues.
• Ensure designs adhere to local specifications and regulations, particularly in international markets.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

Experience:

• Proven experience in OSP design engineering with an emphasis on GPON technology and splitter planning.
• Experience with aerial, underground, and buried OSP designs.
• Familiarity with German telecommunications projects preferred.

Skills:

• Proficiency in OSP design tools such as AutoCAD, QGIS, GIS, KMZ, and Google Earth.
• Strong knowledge of fiber optic cable installation, splicing techniques, and related equipment.
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English and German.
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality designs.
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations governing telecommunications infrastructure.
