What they need

About Micutt

Micutt is a modern manufacturing company specializing in laser cutting and bending sheet metal parts for customers across the U.S. We combine precision technology with rapid turnaround — delivering parts in as fast as two days. Our team blends engineering expertise and a commitment to customer service, helping customers get the parts they need, fast.

About the Role

We care more about how you think than what's on your résumé. If you're the kind of person who takes things apart to see how they work, looks for a better way to do something before anyone asks, and keeps both your workspace and your thinking organized, we'd like to talk with you. Laser experience is a plus, but we're willing to train the right person from the ground up.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and program an HK fiber laser to cut sheet metal parts to specification
  • Interpret part prints and work orders; nest, lay out, and program parts in HypCut for efficient material use
  • Load and unload raw material and finished parts, including safe forklift operation
  • Perform quality inspection of parts (calipers, tape measure, visual checks) to identify issues before they reach the customer
  • Manage material inventory, including tracking stock, remnants, and consumables and flagging reorder needs
  • Perform routine laser maintenance, including nozzle checks, lens cleaning, slat changes, and general machine and work-area upkeep
  • Prepare and stage parts for downstream production steps
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of workflow, organization, tooling, and documentation

**While this role is focused around operating our laser, we are a small shop that requires flexibility and teamwork. Some weeks, all 40-hours will be spent running the laser. Other weeks, all 40-hours will be spent DA sanding/drilling/tapping/shipping parts. Only apply for this position if you're interested in being flexible not only day by day, but hour by hour.**

Qualifications

  • Self-motivated learner who picks up new skills quickly and asks questions when needed
  • Mechanically and/or mathematically minded; comfortable with fractions, decimals, measurements, and reading part prints
  • Creative problem-solver with a practical, solutions-oriented approach
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with a strong sense of ownership over your work
  • Interested in a long-term role and motivated to grow with a young company
  • Reliable, safety-conscious, and collaborative

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Experience operating a CNC fiber or CO2 laser, press brake, or other CNC equipment
  • Familiarity with HK lasers or HypCut / CypCut /CypNest/Lantek software, or comparable laser control and nesting software
  • CAD/CAM experience (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, AutoCAD, or similar)
  • Forklift certification (training and certification provided if needed)
  • Experience reading part prints or drawings, or a manufacturing / machine tool background
  • Basic metalworking, welding, or fabrication skills

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs, with team lifts for heavier sheets
  • Standing, walking, bending, and reaching for the majority of the shift
  • Comfortable working around industrial equipment and wearing required PPE

Compensation and Benefits

  • $20–$30/hr, based on experience, with advancement tied to skills developed and responsibilities taken on
  • Paid holidays, PTO
  • Paid training and certification opportunities
  • Opportunity to advance into programming, lead operator, or production management roles as the company grows
