Fiber Optic Technician

AG Van Force is growing its technician team in Okeechobee, Florida and is looking for motivated individuals interested in fiber and coax installation work.

We’re especially interested in applicants who already have experience in cable, fiber, broadband, telecommunications, low-voltage, or similar field-service work. Previous experience is preferred, but not required. Qualified candidates who are new to the industry may receive training.

This is a hands-on field position for people who enjoy working independently, solving problems, and being active throughout the workday.

Earnings & Work Schedule

• Potential earnings up to $1,450 per week
• $100 daily per diem
• Paid weekly
• Production-based earnings
• Work available Monday through Saturday
• 1099 independent contractor opportunity
• Current workload available in the Okeechobee area

A Typical Day

Technicians travel to assigned customer locations and complete installation or service work involving fiber and coaxial cable.

Depending on the assignment, your day may include:

• Installing fiber or coax cable
• Completing residential installation and service calls
• Identifying and correcting connectivity problems
• Testing signal levels and completed connections
• Using meters and telecommunications equipment
• Routing and securing cable
• Updating and closing assigned work orders
• Documenting completed jobs
• Communicating job status with field supervisors
• Providing professional service at customer locations

Who We Want on the Team

We’re looking for technicians who are dependable, responsible, and ready to work in a field environment.

Ideal candidates will have:

• A valid driver’s license
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Ability to work independently
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Professional communication with customers and supervisors
• Ability to follow safety and installation standards
• Willingness to work in indoor and outdoor environments
• Availability for work Monday through Saturday

Experience with fiber, coax, broadband, cable installation, low-voltage systems, telecommunications, or field service is preferred.

Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

For this Okeechobee opportunity, technicians are not required to already own a work van. Eligible technicians may be able to rent a van through AG Van Force.

Rental options may also be available for certain tools and meters needed for field assignments.

Experienced Technicians

Already worked in telecommunications?

Candidates with hands-on fiber, coax, broadband, cable installation, or related field experience are strongly encouraged to apply. Your previous experience will be considered during the onboarding and assignment process.

New to the Industry?

Previous experience gives applicants an advantage, but it is not the only thing we consider.
