Company Description American Iron & Metal (AIM) is a family-owned company and recognized global leader in the metal recycling industry with more than 125 sites and 4000 employees worldwide. We have continued to prosper for the last eight decades thanks to the dedication of our employees and the ongoing trust and support of our customers.
Become part of team AIM, a growing team with an entrepreneurial spirit who has over the years evolved into a successful and multifaceted company with business divisions that include metal recycling, decommissioning and demolition, auto-parts sales and recycling, manufacturing of solder assemblies, construction waste recycling, and production of customized industrial and mining products.
We take pride in doing good things for the environment to help create a greener, more sustainable future for all.
It’s simple; we do it right. We AIM for excellence.
Job Description You will spend the majority of your time traveling throughout your territory, meeting with automotive businesses, recyclers, scrap yards, and industrial suppliers to develop relationships, identify purchasing opportunities, and grow AIM's supplier network. This is not a traditional office-based sales position. What You’ll Do:
- Safely handle, lift and move material during inspections and collections.
- Build strong relationships with existing and new suppliers throughout your assigned territory.
- Negotiating directly with suppliers and preparing accurate, timely bids based on material value.
- Evaluating catalytic converters based on market factors and conduct negotiations directly with suppliers during on-site interactions, ensuring profitability.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers through regular in person site visits.
- Coordinating with operations and logistics teams to ensure efficient process and transportation of materials.
Qualifications To join our team:
- You have a Valid Drivers License with a clean driving record
- Experience in automotive, recycling, transportation, construction or other relevant industries
- You are comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- You can safely lift, carry, load and unload materials weighing up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
- You have the ability to travel daily throughout an assigned territory with some overnight travel required.
- You have strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with suppliers and customers.
- You are self motivated with the ability to work independently
Additional Information What we offer:
- Competitive total compensation of $75K–$100K+ (including base salary and incentive compensation), along with vacation, benefits, and a 401(k) matching program
- Annual AIM tuition scholarship program of up to $8,500 per eligible dependents
- The tools, training, and support needed to succeed in your role and grow your career
- Access to a company vehicle for business travel
