Field Application Engineer Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and monitor the performance and activities of the Field Application Engineering team.
• Assign and prioritize tasks, projects, and customer support activities to ensure timely execution.
• Provide technical guidance and coaching to Field Application Engineers.
• Monitor team performance, project progress, and customer requirements.
• Act as the main point of contact between the Field Application Engineering team and HQ/R&D teams.
• Liaise closely with HQ and R&D on product development, technical issues, engineering changes, and customer requirements.
• Communicate customer feedback and field issues to HQ and R&D, and coordinate appropriate technical solutions.
• Support the team in troubleshooting technical problems and resolving customer application issues.
• Work closely with Sales, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and other departments to ensure smooth project execution.
• Participate in customer meetings, technical discussions, product evaluations, and application support when required.
• Identify opportunities for product and application improvements based on market and customer feedback.
• Prepare and present technical reports, project updates, and performance reports to management and HQ.
• Ensure the team follows company procedures, technical standards, and quality requirements.
• Develop the technical capabilities and professional skills of Field Application Engineers through coaching and training.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, preferably with experience in field application engineering, technical support, product engineering, or a similar role.
• Prior experience in team leadership or people management is highly preferred.
• Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good understanding of engineering products, applications, and technical troubleshooting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers and international teams.
• Experience working with HQ, R&D, engineering, or cross-functional teams is an advantage.
• Good project management and organizational skills.
• Willingness to travel when required to support customers and field activities.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken, for communication with HQ and R&D teams.
• Having depth extended knowledge in SPI, AOI and AXI.
• Proficiency in Mandarin/Chinese is preferred, as the role requires communication with Chinese-speaking customers or HQ/R&D teams.
