Field Applications Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide applications engineering support for quality and technical related issues of silicon wafers to the customers in SEA.
2. Review customer spec & technical requirements against product and process capabilities, and coordinate with customers on optimized solutions and specification waivers when required.
3. Identify customer technology and product roadmaps to support new process and product development.
4. Coordinate cross-functional resources to support new market, account, and application development.
5. Collect competitor technical intelligence.
6. Manage customer quality issues, coordinate failure analysis and 8D investigations, and follow up on corrective actions through issue closure.
7. Submit Process Change Notification (PCN) to the customers and follow up to obtain approval for major or minor process changes at GWC.
8. Support customer quality system audits and follow up on corrective actions to ensure audit findings are properly closed.

Education & Experience:

1. Candidate must possess a Master degree/Bachelor degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic), Engineering (Material Science), Engineering (Chemical), Engineering (Mechanical), or equivalent.
2. At least 5 Years of working experience in the related field.
3. Good knowledge of semiconductor grade silicon is a must either in a wafer manufacturing or device fabrication environment.

Technical & Language Requirements:

1. Strong knowledge of silicon wafer spec, manufacturing processes and quality requirements.
2. Experience in customer quality issue management, failure analysis, 8D problem solving, benchmarking, and corrective actions.
3. Familiarity with Process Change Notification (PCN), customer quality audits, and semiconductor quality systems.
4. Strong knowledge of semiconductor-grade silicon and wafer manufacturing processes is required.
5. Good in written and verbal English, with the ability to communicate with customers and internal stakeholders across SEA; knowledge of an additional Asian language is a plus.
