Field Conductor

Job Purpose:

To supervise and coordinate daily field operations in the oil palm estate, ensuring that all field activities—such as harvesting, maintenance, and planting—are carried out efficiently, safely, and according to company standards to achieve optimal yield and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Field Operations Supervision

• Oversee daily field work including harvesting, manuring, weeding, pruning, circle cleaning, pest and disease control, and replanting.
• Ensure that all assigned field blocks are worked according to the estate work program and quality standards.
• Monitor the attendance, discipline, and performance of field workers and contractors.
• Check and verify daily work outputs (e.g., number of bunches harvested, fertilizer applied, hectares covered).

2. Harvesting Management

• Supervise harvesting teams to ensure correct harvesting standards (mature bunches, clean cuts, minimal loose fruit loss).
• Monitor evacuation and transport of Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) to collection points or mill.
• Record FFB production and submit daily report

3. Field Records and Reporting

• Maintain accurate field records (harvest data, labour attendance, chemical/fertilizer usage).
• Prepare and submit daily or weekly activity reports
• Assist in yield estimation and crop forecasting.

4. Labour Management and Training

• Supervise a group of field workers (typically 30–60 workers per conductor).
• Train and guide workers on correct field practices and safety procedures.
• Ensure fair distribution of work and compliance with company policies.

5. Estate Maintenance

• Supervise upkeep of estate roads, drains, and field boundaries.
• Monitor estate tools, equipment, and materials to prevent losses or misuse.

6. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

• Enforce compliance with occupational safety and health regulations.
• Ensure proper use of PPE and safe handling of agrochemicals.
• Report any accidents, near-misses, or unsafe conditions immediately.
