Key Project Requirements

• Mid-level construction management position requiring 10+ years of hands-on field experience supporting utility-scale power generation or combined-cycle facilities.
• Strong field construction background with experience monitoring daily EPC contractor activities, identifying construction issues, and coordinating corrective actions.
• Experience overseeing civil, structural, mechanical, piping, equipment installation, and balance-of-plant construction activities.
• Ability to work independently in the field while reporting to and supporting the owner's senior site construction leadership.

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Field Construction Manager for a mid-level, field-focused construction oversight position supporting a major combined-cycle power generation facility in Illinois. Working under the direction of the owner's Site Construction Lead, this individual will spend the majority of the workday in the field monitoring EPC contractor activities, identifying construction issues, and ensuring work progresses safely and in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, and schedule requirements.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Monitor daily EPC contractor and subcontractor construction activities, maintaining an active presence in the field.
• Observe civil, structural, mechanical, piping, equipment installation, and balance-of-plant construction activities.
• Verify construction work complies with Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings, specifications, approved procedures, and quality requirements.
• Identify construction deficiencies, installation conflicts, incomplete work, and potential schedule impacts.
• Coordinate with EPC superintendents, field engineers, subcontractors, and the Owner's Engineer team to address field issues.
• Monitor contractor progress, productivity, safety performance, and adherence to construction milestones.
• Participate in field inspections, construction walkdowns, progress meetings, and quality reviews.
• Support resolution of RFIs, technical queries, nonconformance reports, and construction deficiencies.
• Document field observations, construction progress, outstanding issues, and corrective actions.
• Support mechanical completion activities, punch-list resolution, and construction turnover to commissioning.

Job Requirements

• Strong knowledge of construction methods, field execution, sequencing, and quality control.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and installation procedures.
• Experience working directly with EPC contractors, construction supervisors, and multidisciplinary field teams.
• Familiarity with Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), RFIs, nonconformance reporting, and construction turnover documentation.
• Strong communication, coordination, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work onsite in an active construction environment for the duration of the assignment.

Education / Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline preferred; equivalent field construction experience considered.
• 10+ years of relevant power generation, heavy industrial, or EPC construction experience.
• Combined-cycle power generation experience strongly preferred.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 training preferred.
