What they need
Description
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Field Deployment Coordinator to take ownership of the end-to-end delivery of connectivity solutions across OCU's national site estate. Acting as the central point of coordination, you will manage the commissioning, relocation, modification and decommissioning of site connectivity services, ensuring every site is connected on time, within budget and to the required standards.
Working closely with operational teams, suppliers and managed service providers, you will assess site requirements and select the most appropriate connectivity solutions, ranging from fibre and leased lines to 4G/5G and satellite technologies. You will be responsible for vendor performance, service delivery governance, process development and continuous improvement, ensuring a consistent and scalable approach across a diverse portfolio of temporary and permanent sites.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys managing multiple projects simultaneously and wants to play a key role in shaping and improving network service delivery within a growing organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of site connectivity projects, from initial request through to commissioning, handover and decommissioning.
- Coordinate multiple concurrent site deployments, ensuring delivery against business priorities and operational requirements.
- Act as the primary contact for connectivity requests, providing clear communication, timelines and progress updates to stakeholders.
- Manage and hold network service providers accountable for service quality, SLAs, delivery milestones and escalations.
- Assess site requirements and recommend appropriate connectivity solutions, balancing cost, resilience and lead times.
- Define, document and continually improve deployment processes, standards and governance controls.
- Maintain accurate records of sites, circuits, assets, contracts and renewals.
- Produce regular reporting on delivery performance, risks, costs and service improvements.
- Ensure compliance with security, audit and operational standards.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Experience coordinating network, telecoms or connectivity deployments within a multi-site environment.
Strong understanding of connectivity technologies, including fibre, leased lines, broadband, 4G/5G and satellite solutions.
Proven experience managing third-party suppliers and holding vendors accountable to agreed service levels.
Excellent organisational and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Experience developing and improving operational processes and service delivery frameworks.
Strong communication skills, capable of translating technical information into clear business-focused language.
Knowledge of managed network environments, with exposure to Cisco Meraki, Mako or similar technologies desirable.
Comfortable working in a dynamic environment where priorities and site requirements can change rapidly.
Experience within construction, infrastructure, utilities or other temporary-site environments.
ITIL Foundation or equivalent service management knowledge.
Experience deploying satellite connectivity solutions such as Starlink.
Understanding of wayleaves, civils and site access requirements.
Familiarity with ITSM platforms and asset management processes.
Awareness of Cyber Essentials Plus, ISO 27001 and related compliance frameworks.
Project coordination qualifications (PRINCE2, APM PFQ) or equivalent practical experience.
