The ideal candidate will bring hands-on field engineering experience involving reinforced concrete, rebar installation, foundations, and underground concrete structures, with a strong understanding of construction quality control, ACI standards, and NQA-1 requirements.
Key Responsibilities

- Support quality control activities and inspections to verify compliance with applicable ACI codes, NQA-1 requirements, project specifications, and approved procedures.
- Develop and support construction work packages, field execution plans, and project scheduling activities.
- Prepare and track Requests for Information (RFIs) to resolve drawing discrepancies, field conditions, and technical questions.
- Identify potential construction risks involving materials, equipment, methods, quality, productivity, or schedule and coordinate timely resolution.
- Assist with field layout planning and verification of existing utilities and underground infrastructure before construction begins.
- Coordinate required permits, inspections, certifications, and construction documentation.
- Monitor subcontractor activities to ensure work methods, schedules, and construction quality meet project requirements.
- Track installed quantities, labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs using established project cost codes.
- Coordinate with project controls and accounting personnel to support accurate cost reporting and financial tracking.
- Maintain construction records, inspection documentation, quality records, and project closeout requirements.
- Support final inspections, punch-list resolution, and project turnover activities.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering or a related technical discipline, or an acceptable combination of education and relevant field experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Field Engineer, Project Coordinator, or in a comparable construction engineering position.
- Experience with rebar installation and concrete placement quality control in accordance with ACI requirements.
- Experience with NQA-1 concrete structural construction, including foundations and underground concrete work.
- Working knowledge of civil construction methods, reinforced concrete, construction equipment, rebar drawings, material specifications, and applicable construction codes.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, construction specifications, and technical documentation.
- Experience coordinating field crews, subcontractors, construction inspections, and project documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be a United States citizen and eligible to obtain required customer site access.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting nuclear, DOE, power generation, or other highly regulated industrial construction projects.
- Experience with large-scale concrete foundations, underground structures, and structural construction.
- Familiarity with construction software such as Maximo, MicroStation, AutoCAD, or SAP.
- Experience with construction work packages, RFIs, project cost coding, and quality documentation.
- Experience working with general contractors and multiple subcontractors on complex construction projects.
