Field Engineer

Job Summary

The PENTA Building Group is seeking a motivated Field Engineer to support day-to-day operations on commercial construction projects. The Field Engineer will work closely with Superintendents, Project Managers, Project Engineers, subcontractors, and trade partners to help coordinate field activities, maintain project documentation, monitor construction progress, and support safe, high-quality project delivery.

This position provides hands-on exposure to commercial construction and an opportunity to develop technical and project-management skills in an active field environment.

Responsibilities

• Support daily construction and field coordination activities.
• Assist Superintendents and Project Managers with project execution.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.
• Track RFIs, submittals, field changes, and other project documentation.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and trade partners.
• Assist with site logistics and construction sequencing.
• Monitor field progress against project schedules.
• Participate in daily coordination and project meetings.
• Support quality assurance and quality control activities.
• Assist with inspections and field documentation.
• Identify potential field conflicts and communicate them to project leadership.
• Maintain accurate daily reports and project records.
• Help coordinate material deliveries and procurement requirements.
• Support punch-list and project closeout activities.
• Follow company and project-specific safety requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Entry-level candidates with relevant education, internship, or construction experience may be considered.
• Basic understanding of commercial construction methods and processes.
• Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to work effectively with field and project-management teams.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.
• Construction management software experience is a plus.
• Ability to work in an active construction-site environment.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
