Field Engineer

Responsibilities

• Monitor and supervise the installation of smart site safety IoT devices, including sensors, gateways, cameras, alarms, and related equipment.
• Ensure installations comply with safety requirements, and quality standards.
• Inspect device placement, wiring, mounting, power connections, and network connectivity.
• Perform device testing, configuration, commissioning, and functional verification.
• Identify, document, and resolve installation defects, equipment failures, and connectivity issues.
• Coordinate with contractors, technicians, suppliers, and project teams to address technical issues promptly.
• Verify that devices are correctly integrated with monitoring platforms and reporting systems.
• Support troubleshooting of IoT hardware, wireless networks, sensors, and communication systems.
• Ensure all field activities comply with site safety procedures and applicable regulations.
• Provide training and technical guidance to installation and site personnel.
• Support system upgrades, maintenance activities, and post-installation audits.

Requirements

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience in field engineering, IoT deployment, telecommunications, electrical systems, construction technology, or low-voltage installations.
• Practical knowledge of IoT devices, sensors, gateways, wireless communication, networking, and system integration.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, installation plans, and equipment manuals.
• Experience with testing tools and troubleshooting equipment, such as multimeters, network testers, and signal-strength monitoring tools.
• Strong understanding of quality control, installation inspections, and commissioning procedures.
• Good problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
• Willingness to travel regularly to construction sites or operational facilities.
• Ability to work outdoors and in active construction or industrial environments.
• Valid driver’s license may be required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with smart construction, site safety, industrial IoT, or connected safety systems.
• Knowledge of LoRaWAN, LTE/4G/5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, or other IoT communication technologies.
• Experience preparing inspection reports, test records, and as-built documentation.
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements.
• Relevant technical certifications in networking, electrical systems, IoT, or project quality control.

Working Schedule

• Monday to Saturday.
• Long/short week arrangement.
• Regular attendance at construction sites and operational facilities may be required.
