Field Engineers

As a Field Engineer at ROOTS Communications Pte Ltd, you will support the installation, testing and site works for Roots' telecom infrastructure projects (DAS, in-building and tunnel/transit systems). This is an entry-level, hands-on role with structured guidance and on-the-job training. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Respective Manager, learn the full project workflow, and grow into greater responsibility over time. Fresh graduates and candidates with 0–2 years of experience are welcome to apply.

What you'll be doing:

• Carry out and support on-site installation works – antennas, coaxial and leaky (LCX) cabling, couplers, splitters, and equipment mounting.

• Assist with on-site testing (PIM, VSWR, sweep and ATP testing) and accurately record and report test results.

• Support basic fault-finding and troubleshooting under the guidance of senior engineers.

• Follow all WSH and permit-to-work requirements and maintain a safe and tidy work site.

• Help maintain site documentation – marking up drawings, updating progress trackers, and taking site photos.

• Assist the Installation Manager /senior engineers with site coordination and follow-up tasks.

• Coordinate with the on-site team, sub-contractors and other trades as directed.

• Learn the project processes and requirements of clients such as LTA and the mobile operators (MNOs).

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications or a related engineering field. Fresh graduates are welcome.

• 0–2 years of relevant experience. No prior experience required for the right candidate with a strong willingness to learn.

• Willing to work night Shift.

• Willing to work on-site, including at MRT/transit and construction environments, and to work at height where required (with proper training and PPE).

• Basic understanding of RF or telecom concepts is an advantage but not essential – training will be provided.

• Able to read and follow technical drawings and instructions.

• Good team player, responsible, and eager to learn and take ownership over time.
