Role Description The Field Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Greensboro, NC, responsible for evaluating property damage and preparing accurate estimates for restoration projects. This role conducts site inspections, documents conditions through measurements, notes, photos, and sketches, and uses estimating software to generate detailed scopes of work and cost breakdowns. The Field Estimator collaborates closely with project managers, technicians, and office staff to ensure estimates align with company standards, insurance requirements, and customer expectations. Daily responsibilities include meeting with property owners and adjusters, explaining estimates and repair options, updating files and reports, and supporting timely project approvals. The role also involves maintaining strong communication with stakeholders, adhering to safety and quality guidelines, and representing Paul Davis professionally in the field.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction, restoration, or related fields, with the ability to read and interpret building plans and scopes of work.
• Proficiency with estimating or project management software, basic math skills for measurements and calculations, and comfort using mobile devices and digital tools.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with property owners, insurance representatives, and internal teams with empathy and professionalism.
• Detail-oriented approach to site inspections, documentation, and report writing, with strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to work on-site in various residential and commercial environments.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, and lift moderately heavy items as needed during property inspections, following safety procedures.
• Prior experience in insurance restoration, property claims, or field estimating is preferred but not required; industry certifications (e.g., IICRC) are a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or education in construction, engineering, or a related discipline is beneficial.
