Position Overview

The Field Manager works alongside their crew in daily landscape maintenance tasks while also providing leadership, guidance, and accountability in the field. This role is both hands-on labor and crew supervision, ensuring that work is performed safely, efficiently, and to company standards. The Field Manager is also responsible for recording time using a company-issued device and serving as the crew’s technical expert in landscaping practices.

Job Duties

Crew Leadership & Participation

• Work directly alongside crew members in mowing, edging, trimming, pruning, planting, mulching, and clean-up
• Lead by example, modeling proper techniques and work ethic
• Provide hands-on training and guidance to less experienced crew members

Timekeeping & Reporting

• Accurately record and approve crew members’ time using a company-issued tablet or iPhone
• Track job codes, hours, and field activity for reporting purposes
• Communicate attendance, performance, and needs to branch leadership

Operations & Quality Control

• Oversee crew performance while working alongside them
• Ensure tools, equipment, and vehicles are used properly and maintained in clean, safe condition
• Keep job sites organized and ensure finished work meets company standards

Safety & Compliance

• Enforce all company safety rules and procedures in the field
• Conduct tailgate safety meetings as needed
• Identify hazards and take immediate corrective action

Qualifications

• 5+ years of landscaping or grounds maintenance experience
• Prior crew leadership or supervisory experience
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Ability to use smartphones or tablets for time entry and reporting
• Strong working knowledge of landscape maintenance tasks, tools, and equipment
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
