Field Manager

2027 Inaugural Season | Pecos League

Location: Burlingame, California – San Francisco Bay Area
Position: Professional Baseball Field Manager
Season: Summer 2027
Team: Burlingame Jellyfish – Pecos League Expansion Franchise

Position Overview:

The Burlingame Jellyfish are seeking a qualified and motivated Field Manager to lead the team during its inaugural 2027 season in the Pecos League of Professional Baseball Clubs.

The Jellyfish will take the field for the first time in 2027, bringing professional baseball to Burlingame, California. The team will compete entirely within the San Francisco Bay Area, providing a unique opportunity for a manager to lead a new professional baseball franchise without the extensive long-distance travel typically associated with independent professional baseball.

The Field Manager will be responsible for all on-field baseball operations, player development, roster management, and establishing a competitive team culture during the franchise's first season.

This is an opportunity to build a professional baseball team from the ground up and become the first Field Manager in Burlingame Jellyfish history.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of the team's on-field baseball operations.
• Recruit, evaluate, and develop players for the inaugural 2027 roster.
• Coordinate player signings, roster transactions, and personnel decisions in accordance with Pecos League rules.
• Establish daily lineups, pitching rotations, and in-game strategies.
• Organize and conduct team practices, batting practice, and pregame preparation.
• Develop players seeking opportunities at higher levels of professional baseball.
• Maintain discipline, professionalism, and accountability throughout the season.
• Coordinate with Pecos League officials regarding player eligibility, roster updates, and league requirements.
• Work with team management to establish a positive and competitive environment.
• Represent the Burlingame Jellyfish professionally on and off the field.

2027 Inaugural Season:

The Burlingame Jellyfish will begin play in May 2027 as an expansion franchise in the Pecos League.

Unlike many independent professional baseball teams that travel across multiple states, the Jellyfish will play their entire schedule in the San Francisco Bay Area of California.

The team's home ballpark will be Washington Park in Burlingame, California.

The 2027 season will provide the first Field Manager with the opportunity to establish the team's identity, develop its inaugural roster, and help build the foundation for professional baseball in Burlingame.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous professional or collegiate baseball coaching experience.
• Strong understanding of independent professional baseball operations.
• Experience recruiting, evaluating, and developing baseball players.
• Knowledge of pitching management, defensive strategies, and player development.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage a roster throughout a competitive summer season.
• Willingness to work closely with Pecos League management and team ownership.
