Support apprentices. Build careers. Strengthen industry pathways.

Smart Apprenticeship Solutions and Squad Employment & Training are seeking a passionate and organised Field Officer to support apprentices and trainees throughout their employment journey. If you love mentoring people, building strong relationships with employers, and making a real impact in your community, this role offers purpose, variety and connection every day.

As a Field Officer, you’re the key link between apprentices, trainees, host employers and training providers. Your work directly shapes the future workforce across multiple industries.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Support apprentices and trainees from onboarding through to completion, ensuring they receive the right training, support and workplace experience.
  • Build strong relationships with host employers, conducting regular site visits and providing ongoing support.
  • Mentor and coach candidates, helping them become job‑ready through resume support, interview preparation and ongoing guidance.
  • Coordinate inductions, PPE, workplace readiness and ACAP registrations.
  • Monitor training plans, address barriers, and facilitate host rotations where needed.
  • Conduct quarterly performance reviews with input from hosts and employees.
  • Engage with schools and community groups, promoting career pathways and youth employability.
  • Ensure compliance and WHS standards are upheld, including documentation, audits and site safety reviews.
  • Support finance and administration, resolving invoicing or payment issues and maintaining accurate records.
  • Represent the organisation at events, expos, trade shows and networking activities.

Why You’ll Love This Role

  • Meaningful work supporting apprentices and trainees to succeed.
  • Strong team culture with supportive leadership.
  • Opportunities to engage with schools, employers and community partners.
  • A role with variety — no two days look the same.
  • Be part of a values‑driven organisation committed to safety, quality and youth employment.

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
  • Patience, empathy and a genuine interest in supporting young people.
  • High attention to detail and strong administrative capability.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
  • Confidence resolving workplace issues and providing constructive guidance.
  • High computer literacy (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Working With Children Check and White Card (or willingness to obtain).
  • Professional presentation, resilience and a positive, team‑focused attitude.
