Position Overview

VIBE Academy is seeking an energetic, personable, and dependable Field Organizer to help build community awareness and collect signatures of support for our proposed Phoenix charter high school.

This is a short-term, field-based position ideal for someone who enjoys meeting new people, engaging with the community, and supporting innovative educational opportunities.

The Field Organizer will visit community gathering places, engage residents in conversations about VIBE Academy, share information about the proposed school, and invite interested community members to sign a statement of support.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct in-person community outreach throughout the Phoenix area.
• Share a clear, engaging overview of VIBE Academy's educational model and proposed school.
• Collect signatures from individuals who voluntarily express support for bringing VIBE Academy to Phoenix.
• Visit approved community locations, neighborhood events, businesses, and other gathering places.
• Answer basic questions about VIBE Academy using provided talking points and informational materials.
• Accurately record signatures and any required information on approved forms.
• Maintain organized records and submit completed forms daily.
• Track daily outreach activities, including conversations, signatures collected, and locations visited.
• Provide feedback about community interest, questions, and concerns.
• Represent VIBE Academy professionally and respectfully in all interactions.

Qualifications

Required

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable approaching new people.
• Reliable, organized, and able to work independently.
• Ability to explain information clearly and accurately.
• Access to reliable transportation throughout the Phoenix area.
• Ability to work outdoors, walk, and stand for extended periods, with reasonable accommodations as needed.
• Smartphone access for communication and activity reporting.
• Commitment to respectful, honest, and voluntary community engagement.

Preferred

• Previous experience in community organizing, canvassing, outreach, petitioning, or event promotion.
• Familiarity with Phoenix neighborhoods and community organizations.
• Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.
• Interest in education, youth development, or community engagement.

Compensation & Schedule

Pay: 22–25 per hour, depending on experience.

Hours: Approximately 20–30 hours during the initial week, with flexible scheduling based on outreach opportunities and organizational needs.

Duration: Initial one-week assignment, with the possibility of additional outreach work.

This is a temporary paid position. Required training, outreach, and administrative reporting time will be compensated. Approved work-related travel expenses will be reimbursed according to VIBE Academy policy.

Training & Support

VIBE Academy will provide:

• A brief orientation to the VIBE educational model.
• Approved talking points and frequently asked questions.
• Signature collection forms and outreach materials.
• Guidance on appropriate outreach locations and community engagement.
• Daily check-ins and support from the VIBE leadership team.

What Success Looks Like

By the end of the assignment, the Field Organizer will have:

• Increased community awareness of VIBE Academy.
• Collected accurate, valid, voluntarily provided signatures of support.
• Documented outreach locations, activities, and community feedback.
• Submitted organized records to the VIBE leadership team.
