What they need

Industra Construction Corp. is seeking a Field Project Coordinator to join our site team in Terrace, BC. Based on site full-time for a minimum of one year, you will report to the Project Manager and work daily with the Superintendent and Foremen to keep every aspect of the project and site operations running smoothly, safely, on schedule and on budget.

We are hiring for a career, not just a project. Industra is a rapidly growing, self-perform General Contractor delivering water and wastewater, industrial, civil and remote northern projects across Canada. After Terrace, we want the successful candidate to continue with us on future projects—with real opportunities to progress into Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager and Project Manager roles, supported by mentorship and a personal development plan.

Local candidates in Terrace and the surrounding area are preferred; out-of-town candidates will be considered, with a Living Out Allowance (LOA) available for eligible candidates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support site safety activities, including WorkSafeBC compliance and the COR program, site orientations, field level hazard assessments and incident reporting, and act as site safety representative when required.
  • Review drawings and specifications, identify discrepancies and help resolve technical issues with the project team and designers.
  • Act as site supervisor in the absence of the Superintendent and/or Foreman, directing labour and site activities safely and in line with the project plan
  • Prepare and track RFIs, submittals and change documentation, and maintain project document control in Procore.
  • Track daily production, quantities, labour, equipment and materials, and prepare accurate daily reports.
  • Monitor cost and schedule performance, flag variances early and help the Superintendent update look-ahead schedules.
  • Maintain field documentation, including daily T&M and extra-work tickets signed by the client representative, site photos, daily diaries, and weather and delay records
  • Validate quantities for progress billing and subcontractor progress payments, and support monthly reporting.
  • Support environmental compliance by coordinating erosion and sediment control measures, maintaining environmental monitoring records and tracking permit conditions for work within the Skeena watershed.
  • Coordinate process mechanical and electrical vendor packages for the water treatment facility, and support startup, commissioning and operator training
  • Support site administration, including timecards and cost coding, new-hire onboarding, small tools and equipment inventory, rental tracking, and accommodation and travel logistics.
  • Support the project quality program by maintaining inspection and test plans and coordinating third-party testing for compaction, concrete and other required work.
  • Prepare weekly site meeting minutes and contribute accurate project information for monthly reporting.
  • Act as a key day-to-day contact for the client, consultants and inspectors on site, communicating clearly and professionally.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors and suppliers, with a solid understanding of each scope’s inclusions and exclusions.
  • Support procurement and permitting, including take-offs, purchase orders, deliveries, local permits and utility locates.
  • Assist with project close-out, including as-builts, deficiency lists, O&M manuals and commissioning documentation.
  • Support the project’s commitments to the Kitsumkalum Band by coordinating local and Indigenous hiring, training and procurement initiatives, maintaining related records, and contributing to respectful, professional community engagement.

Working Conditions

  • Full-time, site based role in Terrace, BC.
  • Local candidates: Monday to Friday, 10-hour days, with occasional Saturdays as required.
  • Out-of-town candidates: 10 days on / 4 days off rotation (Monday to Saturday, 10-hour days), with company paid travel to and from Terrace.
  • Company provided housing and a Living Out Allowance for each day worked for out-of-town candidates.
  • Company truck and fuel card provided.
  • Outdoor and site office work in northern conditions, including winter cold and snow.

Industra welcomes applications from Indigenous candidates and individuals with knowledge of or experience working respectfully with Indigenous communities. Candidates from the Kitsumkalum community and surrounding area are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field; EIT designation is an asset.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in a Project Coordinator or Field Engineer capacity; co-op terms considered.
  • Strong technical skills and excellent communication skills, equally comfortable with the client and with crews on site.
  • Experience on civil, infrastructure, water/wastewater or industrial projects is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Procore, Bluebeam or Microsoft Project is an asset.
  • Supervisor safety training (e.g., BCCSA), Basic First Aid, WHMIS, Fall Protection, Confined Space and Ground Disturbance held, or willing to obtain
  • Valid driver’s licence, and drivers abstract with no limitations impacting your ability to drive a company vehicle
  • Ability to commit to working on site in Terrace for a minimum of one year.

Benefits (Available from Day One)

We offer a competitive benefits package including Dental care, Extended health and vision care, Disability and life insurance (60% employer paid), RRSP matching, Paid time off and bonus. A Living Out Allowance (LOA) is available for eligible out-of-town candidates.

Salary

$75,000–$95,000 per year, plus Living Out Allowance (LOA) while on site for out of town candidates. Your starting salary will depend on your experience and qualifications. For candidates who bring significantly more experience, we may consider compensation above this range.
