Field Sales Representative Apprentice

1-800-Radiator & A/C is looking for sales representatives to visit customers across Westchester County, NY and convince them of our value, help serve their needs, and report back on market intelligence to our owner.

1-800 Radiator & A/C is the largest provider of automotive cooling products in the country and one of the largest independent auto parts wholesalers. Our products include automotive cooling parts (radiators, air conditioning, fans), fuel management parts, starters, alternators and batteries.

Are you looking for a flexible job with great earning potential? Do you want a free way to pay for college? 1-800-Radiator is hiring sales people to visit customers and promote our aftermarket car parts for engine cooling and air conditioning.

As a sales person, you will be responsible for informing customers about our products and benefits, such as fast delivery times and hassle-free returns. You will also act as a go-between for customers and our company, addressing any issues they may have with us. Your day to day involves visiting up to 30 businesses in an 8 hour shift by driving to their locations.

No prior experience in the automotive industry is necessary - we will provide the training you need. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to gain sales experience or break into the automotive market.

This is a registered New York State apprenticeship. While working, you will take college classes at SUNY Empire, and earn college credit. You will also participate in on the job and formalized training in sales tactics. After 12 months, you will earn a raise, and a certificate from the state of New York saying you are a certified Customer Service Representative. All of this is free of charge to you and a great way to start or complete an Associate's Degree in business or communications.

Required Qualifications

• Ability to speak, read and write in English
• Ability to speak, read and write in Spanish
• Have a valid drivers license - you must drive to locations
• Attention to Detail - be able to record business hours, how busy the shop is, type of business (collision, standard repair, etc.)
• Be able to visit the warehouse at least once a week
• Be willing to have tough conversations about why customers won't buy more

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in outside sales or door-to-door sales
• Experience working in a retail store
• Knowledge of automotive aftermarket business, especially prior work experience in automotive retail or wholesale environments

Commission

This position is on a commission plan and there will be opportunities to earn money beyond your salary and commission during the course of the year. The salary range listed is the expected total compensation after commission and bonuses.

Salary

$45,000 - $65,000 per year
