Field Service Automation Technician

Big D Companies has been in operation for 49 years in West Texas providing a wide variety of services to the Oil & Gas industry. Big D's Automation Department has a technician opening available to help us push greater support and capability to our customers.

Position Overview:

This is a Field position, you will be responsible for the installation, monitoring, and servicing of various automation equipment currently employed in the field. Big D Companies is centered in Midland TX, but our operations extend across the Permian and Delaware Basin. This job will require you to travel and work hours outside of conventional time frames. On-call responsibilities will be rotated between technicians as needed to meet the demand of customers. You will be given all the tools and transportation necessary to perform your job duties.

Position Responsibilities:

• Install electronic equipment for various Oil & Gas applications.
• Provide Field Service as needed to maintain operational readiness.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose various electronic equipment to isolate faults within an automated system.
• Provide professional communication to company personnel and help answer any questions they may have.
• Comply with all applicable Safety Rules and Responsibilities.

Preferred Candidates experience:

• Electrical Knowledge
• Flow Meter Knowledge
• Understands Inputs & Outputs in a PLC function.
• Mechanical - Hand & Power Tools
• Computers - Local Area Network
• Wire runs and landing.
• Oil & Gas production knowledge

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:

• Minimum 2 year experience with Instruments or Electronic equipment.
• Familiarization with Analog and Modbus protocols.
• Computer skills are necessary to perform your duties, familiarization with Microsoft applications is a must.(Word, Excel, Outlook, ect.)
• Capable of working with Hand and Electrical tools.
• Capable of being subjected to environmental heat for extended periods of time.
• Able to lift and transport 40+ lbs unassisted if necessary.

Candidate Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organization skills.
• Read/Write English as a primary language.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• You must pass a drug test.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United Stated without sponsorship.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour

Experience:

• Mechanical Knowledge: 1 year (Preferred)
• Troubleshooting Electronics, Instruments, or Sensors: 1 year (Required)
• Oil & Gas Field: 3 years (Preferred)
