Devereux Data Ltd is a UK business technology provider delivering hosted telephony, connectivity, business WiFi, and access control and security systems to schools, healthcare, hospitality and commercial clients. As our security division grows, we're looking for an experienced field service engineer to install, commission and maintain access control and CCTV systems.

The role

This is a fully field-based role with daily travel to customer sites across the Midlands and the wider UK, and you'll be expected to stay away overnight at times. You'll cover installation, commissioning, planned maintenance and reactive fault-finding, configure networked devices onto customer networks, carry out structured cabling and containment where needed, and keep accurate job records, all while giving our customers a professional service on site.

Hours

Standard hours are 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. These may vary with travel, and some out-of-hours work will occasionally be required.

Essential

• Proven, recent experience installing and servicing access control systems

• Working knowledge of IP networking (addressing, switches, PoE, basic configuration)

• Full UK driving licence

• Happy to travel daily and stay away from home when jobs require it

• Able to work independently and start in a field role without extensive training

• As you'll be working in schools, healthcare and other secure sites, this role is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check

Desirable

• Paxton (Net2/Paxton10) and other access control platforms

• Door entry and intercom systems

• IP CCTV installation and servicing (e.g. Hikvision)

• Structured cabling (Cat6, fibre) and an ECS or CSCS card
