Field Service Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Installation, Maintenance & Repair

·       Install, commission, configure, and provide technical support for low, mid, and high-volume printing equipment at customer sites.

·       Perform preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities to ensure maximum equipment uptime and performance.

·       Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, electronic, software, and print quality issues efficiently.

·       Ensure all field-installed equipment is updated with the latest modifications, firmware, and technical upgrades as directed by the manufacturer.

·       Support and troubleshoot printing software solutions, workflow applications, and printing system-related applications.

·       Conduct machine performance checks and verify equipment meets operational specifications after installation or repair.

Technical Service Support

·       Maintain service tools, test equipment, spare parts inventory, and technical documentation required to perform field service activities.

·       Keep technical service manuals and service-related documentation updated and readily available for daily operations.

·       Prepare and submit accurate service reports, maintenance records, and customer visit documentation in accordance with company requirements.

·       Escalate unresolved technical issues to senior engineers or technical support teams within established timelines.

·       Participate in technical training programs and continuously upgrade product and application knowledge.

Customer Service

·       Build and maintain strong relationships with customers through professional and timely service delivery.

·       Provide technical guidance and basic operator training to customers where required.

·       Respond promptly to customer service requests and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.

·       Collaborate with internal teams, including technical support, sales, and logistics, to ensure effective service delivery.

Qualifications & Experience

Educational Requirements

·       NITEC / Higher NITEC in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering with 3–5 years of relevant experience; or

·       Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related discipline with 1–2 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Experience

·       Experience servicing digital printing, production printing, office printing, or wide-format printing equipment.

·       Hands-on experience in equipment installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair.

·       Familiarity with software applications, print workflow solutions, and network-connected printing devices.

Required Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

·       Good knowledge of basic xerographic principles and printing equipment.

·       Understanding of process color management and print quality control.

·       Basic IT networking knowledge, including IP configuration and network connectivity troubleshooting.

·       Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation.

·       Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting capabilities.
