As a talented and team-oriented TOPTICA Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for a wide range of duties related to our laser systems in scientific and industrial applications with partners in biophotonics, industrial metrology, and quantum technology industries. This hands-on work is direct customer support both in the North American Headquarters’ office and at customer sites.

Key job responsibilities:

• Field service of existing TOPTICA laser systems at existing customer sites.
• Installation of new laser systems at customer locations; regular travel will be required.
• Service and repair of laser systems in-house when needed.
• Technical support and troubleshooting with both internal and external customers.
• Periodic travel to TOPTICA’s headquarters in Munich for training and product orientation.

Required skills:

• Significant experience and skill in hands-on work with cw and/or ultrafast lasers and optical systems.
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• Ability to adapt to unexpected challenges while maintaining effectiveness and a collaborative attitude.
• Comfortable in high-pressure situations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as an outgoing personality and a desire to interact with people.
• Must be able to lift and move 50 pounds.

Qualifications:

• Unrestricted right to work in United States required.
• Understanding of optical principles and design.
• Knowledge of laser operating principles.
• Physics, optics, electrical engineering, chemistry, or a related scientific degree.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
