Field Service Engineer

To strengthen our Service team, we are looking for a talented and team-oriented Field Service Engineer to provide on-site and/or remote technical support for our customers, who are often leaders in their respective scientific disciplines.

What can you expect in the role of Field Service Engineer?

• Field service of existing TOPTICA laser systems at customer sites
• Installation of new laser systems at customer locations with regular travel
• Service and repair of laser systems in-house when needed
• Technical support and troubleshooting with both internal and external customers
• Periodic travel to TOPTICA's headquarters in Munich for training and product orientation

Must-haves: What you’ll need for this role?

• Significant experience and skill in hands-on work with cw and/or ultrafast lasers and optical systems
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• Ability to adapt to unexpected challenges while maintaining effectiveness and a collaborative attitude
• Comfortable in high-pressure situations
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an outgoing personality and desire to interact with people
• Must be able to lift and move 50 pounds
• Unrestricted right to work in United States

What would be a plus in this role?

• Experience installing and aligning optical systems
• Understanding of optical principles and design
• Knowledge of laser operating principles

• Lasing threshold
• PID loop
• Laser locking
• Phase matching
