Field Service Engineer

We are looking for technically skilled and customer-oriented Field Service Engineers for Chennai and Hyderabad for our client.

The role involves installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and technical support for industrial inkjet printers and coding & marking machines at customer locations.

The ideal candidate should have strong technical troubleshooting skills, good communication abilities, and a willingness to travel within the assigned territory.

Role & responsibilities

• Install, commission, configure, and test industrial inkjet printers and coding & marking machines.
• Attend customer breakdown and service calls and ensure timely resolution.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of machines.
• Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, and control-system issues.
• Diagnose machine faults and identify root causes.
• Perform machine calibration, testing, and performance checks.
• Provide technical training to customers and machine operators.
• Explain machine operation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting procedures.
• Maintain service records, job sheets, installation reports, and breakdown reports.
• Coordinate with the Service Coordinator and Technical Team for unresolved or critical issues.
• Coordinate with the spare-parts team for required components and replacements.
• Provide timely updates to customers regarding service status and resolution.
• Identify recurring technical issues and provide feedback to the technical/product team.
• Maintain strong professional relationships with customers and ensure high customer satisfaction.
• Follow company and customer safety procedures.
• Travel to customer locations across the assigned territory and other locations as required.

Preferred candidate profile

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
• 2+ years of experience in field service, machine maintenance, industrial automation, printing machinery, coding & marking equipment, or similar industrial equipment.
• Strong hands-on troubleshooting experience in electrical and electronic systems.
• Basic knowledge of PLCs, sensors, motors, control panels, and industrial automation.
• Knowledge of mechanical and pneumatic systems will be an advantage.
• Ability to read and understand electrical/electronic circuit diagrams.
• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Customer-oriented approach and professional attitude.
• Good documentation and reporting skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.

Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹650,000.00 per year
