About the role

As a Service Technician, you will master customer service skills, independently handle field service support for Bystronic equipment, troubleshoot and repair as well as lead installations and start-ups, offer 1st level technical support, instruct customers on our applications, and foster positive relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Demonstrate a strong knowledge of customer service skills
• Perform field service for all Bystronic equipment and machines (laser-cutting, bending, automation)
• Troubleshoot and repair with minimum assistance
• Complete machine relocation independently
• Conduct installations start-ups and commissioning of equipment
• Provide 1st level technical field support
• Instruct customer on metal applications, machine procedures and operation and safety
• Demonstrate Technical Specialist ability on one or more products
• Build positive relationships with customers

About you

• Mechanical/Electrical educational background
• Minimum of 2-3 years of technical service experience
• Experience in the bending or laser-cutting machinery sector is a key advantage
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends as needed
• Frequent traveling across Malaysia
• Ability to make effective decisions and creatively build effective programs to increase sales and build customer satisfaction based on business needs
• Adept at balancing priorities based on repair workload
• Demonstrated ability to perform well as a self-starter and work well in a team environment
