Field Service Engineer

About Our Client

Our client is a global leading provider of supporting solutions for new energy power systems. The company continuously provides high-quality power supply solutions and high-end equipment for a wide range of scenarios, including new energy (such as wind energy, solar energy, and energy storage), new infrastructure, and rail transit, by employing digital manufacturing models.

Key Responsibilities

1. On-site Installation & Commissioning-Carry out installation, commissioning, and start-up of offshore wind transformers, compact substations, and switchgear at customer locations.
2. Maintenance & Repairs-Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on offshore transformers, compact substations, and switchgear.
3. Fault Diagnosis & Troubleshooting-Rapidly respond to technical issues at customer sites, perform systematic diagnostics, and provide effective solutions.
4. Documentation & Reporting-Use maintenance software to log service activities, prepare field service reports, and maintain technical records.
5. Safety & Compliance-Strictly adhere to internal safety policies and customer site safety regulations, ensuring compliance with VDE0100 (installations up to 1000V), VDE0101 (installations above 1000V), and special offshore safety requirements.
6. Subcontractor Supervision-Supervise and sign off on work performed by subcontractors within the scope of field maintenance.
7. Customer Training & Support-Provide technical training and after‑ sales support to customers on equipment operation and maintenance.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

1. Completed vocational training as an electrician/electronics technician (e.g., industrial engineering, energy and building services, automation technology, mechatronics).
2. Additional qualification as a Technician or Master Craftsman (Meister) is preferred.
3. Minimum 3 years of field service experience with high-voltage electrical equipment; experience with offshore wind transformers, compact substations, or switchgear is highly desirable.

Technical Skills:

1. Hands-on experience in installation and maintenance of offshore wind transformers, compact substations(E‑ House), and GIS/AIS switchgear.
2. Proficient in using diagnostic tools and test equipment.
3. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
4. Familiarity with IEC 60076-16 (transformers for wind power) and the IEC 62271 series (switchgear).
