You'll play a key role in maintaining, fault-finding, repairing and integrating complex electro-mechanical equipment, ensuring our products continue to perform in demanding operational environments.

Based at our Winfrith facility, you'll work both on-site and at customer locations across the UK and overseas, with opportunities to travel internationally and support equipment deployed around the world.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Field Service Engineer, you'll provide expert technical support throughout the lifecycle of our equipment. Working independently and alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing field service support for ATLAS UK products throughout the UK and internationally.
  • Diagnosing faults and carrying out maintenance, testing and repairs on complex electro-mechanical systems.
  • Supporting equipment integration, installation, system grooms and commissioning activities.
  • Conducting equipment surveys and producing technical reports with findings and recommendations.
  • Identifying recurring equipment issues and contributing to continuous product improvement.
  • Supporting customer acceptance trials, factory testing and sea trials when required.
  • Working with engineering teams to resolve technical challenges and improve product performance.
  • Developing your product knowledge through planned secondments within other engineering departments.
  • Deploying at short notice when operational requirements demand.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, takes pride in delivering excellent customer service and is comfortable working in varied environments.

You'll ideally have:

  • HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills on mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • A flexible approach with the ability to travel within the UK and internationally.

Desirable

  • Experience working within the maritime, defence or offshore sectors.
  • Previous Royal Navy or MOD experience.
  • Knowledge of submarine or surface ship systems.
  • Fibre optic and copper cable repair experience.
  • Experience writing technical reports and supporting engineering investigations.
  • Experience installing or integrating equipment on marine platforms.

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Customer focused and professional.
  • Self-motivated with a positive, solutions-focused attitude.
  • Comfortable working independently or as part of a team.
  • Adaptable and willing to work in workshops, offices, customer sites and onboard vessels.
  • Organised with excellent time management skills.
  • Confident communicating with customers and colleagues at all levels.
  • Flexible and willing to support operational requirements when needed.

Why Join TKMS ATLAS UK?

At TKMS ATLAS UK, you'll be part of a growing engineering business delivering innovative maritime technology to defence customers across the globe.

You'll work on challenging projects, develop specialist technical expertise and have the opportunity to support cutting-edge underwater and naval systems throughout their operational lifecycle.

Alongside a collaborative and supportive working environment, we offer excellent career development opportunities, flexible working and a competitive benefits package.
