Field Service Representative

About the Role

A defense manufacturer is fielding a new loitering munition to U.S. Army operational units and is building out the team that fields, trains, and sustains it. As a UAS Field Service Representative, you are the company's representative on the ground with military customers.

You run demonstrations, train operators and their leaders, keep systems mission-ready, support lot testing, and resolve issues in the field so the customer can keep working.

When you are not traveling, you help develop and update the training the military continues to request. Training is expected to grow into roughly half of the role, so this position suits someone who instructs as well as they troubleshoot.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the on-site technical and operational expert for military customers.
• Deliver live demonstrations, customer engagements, and hands-on operational support.
• Train operators and senior military leaders, and help build and update the supporting curriculum.
• Provide field troubleshooting and maintenance, and make sound decisions independently when issues arise.
• Support assembly, integration, quality checks, and lot testing of ground control equipment and air vehicles.
• Perform airworthiness and post-maintenance (ATP-related) activity and support flight operations.
• Develop and maintain the procedures and documentation that U.S. FSRs rely on.
• Represent the company professionally and work independently, often as the sole company presence on site.

Required Qualifications

• Prior U.S. military experience.
• Hands-on experience operating, maintaining, or instructing on unmanned aircraft systems (UAS/UAV).
• A technical and maintenance foundation, with the ability to troubleshoot in the field and think quickly under pressure.
• Ability to work independently and represent the company professionally in front of military personnel, including senior leaders.
• Willingness to travel frequently, including occasional short-notice trips.
• U.S. citizenship (required for ITAR compliance).

Preferred Qualifications

• Military instructor or formal training experience.
• FAA Part 107 certificate. Candidates who hold it move to the front of the line; candidates without it can be supported in obtaining it.
• Prior field-service experience, or experience with loitering munitions or Group 1 to 3 unmanned systems.
• Backgrounds that translate well include Army 15W, Marine 7314, fire support and Joint Fires Observer profiles, and SOCOM or Special Forces experience. Strong UAS operators and instructors from any service are encouraged to apply.
