Field Service Tech — ATM Systems

Overview

Getcoins is seeking a Field Service Technician to install, service, and maintain our Bitcoin ATM fleet, reporting directly to the operations manager. You will be based in the Savage, MD area and spend most of your time on the road — roughly 60-70% travel — servicing machines throughout the DC metro area and a territory extending up to 8 hours out, with occasional trips to farther destinations requiring overnight stays. A company vehicle, tools, and all travel expenses are provided. Experience servicing ATMs, kiosks, or similar electromechanical equipment is required.

Duties

• Commission and prepare machines for deployment, including hardware configuration and pre-installation testing
• Physically install machines at approved merchant sites, including anchoring, power, and network setup
• Install branded signage and marketing materials at each site
• Perform preventative maintenance, routine inspections, cleaning, part replacement, and replenishment of supplies per company guidelines
• Troubleshoot hardware and connectivity issues in the field — bill acceptors, printers, touchscreens, PCs, and 4G modems
• Train merchant partners and third-party vendors on machine operation, in person and by phone
• Collect and document accurate merchant and site information during visits
• Document all field activity and report issues and resolutions promptly to the operations manager
• Contribute to training materials, operating manuals, and standard operating procedures
• Assist other departments as needed

Experience

• Prior experience of hands-on field service experience with ATMs, BTMs, kiosks, vending, or comparable electromechanical equipment
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Comfortable with basic PC hardware and Windows troubleshooting
• Structured, procedure-driven approach to problem solving
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Professional presence that builds credibility with merchant partners
• Ability to pass a background check

Physical Requirements

The essential functions of this role require bending, carrying, climbing, driving, kneeling, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, sitting, standing, and walking. With or without reasonable accommodation, the technician must be able to:

• Lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs unassisted
• Independently move, position, and secure machines weighing 200+ lbs on a hand truck, without assistance from a second person
• Load and unload machines from a service vehicle unassisted
• Work in a kneeling, crouching, or bent position while servicing machines.
