Field Service Tech ( Security Systems, ELV & IT)

About the role

We are looking for a hands-on and responsible Field Service Tech to join our technical service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining,installing and supporting security and ELV systems installed at customer sites. This position is suitable for candidates who enjoy field-based technical work, problem solving, and dealing directly with customers.

Key responsibilities

• Attend customer sites for breakdown calls, troubleshooting, repair and preventive maintenance.
• Diagnose and rectify faults involving CCTV & IP Surveillance Systems, Access Control Systems, Intruder Alarm Systems, Intercom Systems, and other ELV and Security Systems.
• Perform Preventive Maintenance (PM) according to scheduled maintenance plans.
• Troubleshoot hardware, cabling, power supply, network connectivity and system-related issues.
• Replace faulty equipment, components, power supplies and other system parts when required.
• Perform basic configuration, testing and commissioning of security system equipment.
• Carry out basic IP networking troubleshooting, including IP addressing, connectivity, switches and network cabling.
• Coordinate with the Service Coordinator/Service Team on service calls, spare parts and customer requirements.
• Liaise professionally with customers and provide clear updates on fault findings and rectification status.
• Prepare and submit service reports, maintenance reports and technical documentation after completing work.

About you

• Certificate, SKM, Diploma, Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Electronics, IT, Networking, Mechatronics or related technical field.
• Experience in CCTV, Access Control, Alarm, ELV or Security Systems is preferred.
• Candidates with electrical/electronic troubleshooting experience are encouraged to apply.
• Basic understanding of computer networking, TCP/IP and LAN systems will be an advantage.
• Able to use basic electrical/electronic test equipment and hand tools.
• Able to troubleshoot technical problems systematically and independently.
• Comfortable working at customer sites, including indoor and outdoor environments.
• Willing to climb ladders and perform hands-on installation and maintenance work.
• Able to communicate with customers professionally.
• Possess a valid Malaysian driving licence and willing to travel.
