GEARS Mining is an Australian owned company and home of the record-breaking "World's Largest Mill Relining Machine". We provide specialist maintenance solutions and products to mine sites located across six continents.

Due to continuous business growth and a newly released product range, GEARS Mining is seeking a Field Service Technician to join our enthusiastic team in a fixed term role.

About the role

This role requires a mixture of both domestic and international travel.

Prior to commencing travel, training on our products will take place within the factory setting.

Tasks:

• Complete mechanical, hydraulic and electrical preventative maintenance, diagnosis, trouble shooting and repairs on mine site process plant equipment
• Perform breakdown repairs as required to ensure minimal downtime
• Installation and testing of GEARS Mining products as required
• Participate in skills and product training
• Maintain and complete all paperwork associated with the job

Skills and experience

• The successful applicant will possess the following skills and experience:
• Australian Trade Qualification, either Diesel fitter, Mechanical Fitter, Auto Electrician or Electrician
• Ability to obtain National Police clearance
• Able to pass a full pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
• Ability to obtain passport
• High level of attention to details focusing on customer satisfaction
• Sound literacy skills and ability
• Proficient in the Microsoft suite of products including Outlook, Word & Excel
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Outstanding work ethic with ability to work both as part of a team or autonomously as required while demonstrating a strong commitment to safety

The following will also be highly advantageous

• High Risk Forklift and Dogging ticket
• Completed confined space entry
• Completed Working at Heights
• Experience with CAN Bus Systems
• Experience with Low Voltage electrical systems.
• Experience with Rockbreakers
• Experience with field work and working away from home
• Experience with forklift or elevated work platform diagnosis and repair
• Experience with CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Software)
