Field Service Technician

About the role

The Mechanical Engineering Field Service Technician will provide support and assistance to the Service Manager and other employees. Core duties will be inclusive of assessing, repairing and servicing of compressors, vacuum pumps, blowers and systems at customer's premises. Additional responsibilities include identifying prospective new and ongoing sales opportunities on customer sites. Must be able to work autonomously, as well as working as part of a small team.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, repair and service compressors and vacuum pumps in an effective, efficient and safe manner in accordance with the Busch Australia quality management requirements

• Perform most of the work at customers site, with a lot of travel required

• Work in the workshop (Repair Shop) when required

• Accurately maintain written documented records as required in areas such as recording spare parts use, daily tasks and activities performed

• Perform electrical work as required within the skill, experience, and relevant qualification

• Actively participate in all team meetings as required and develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with other staff and external and internal clients

• Promote Busch and be pro-active in seeking additional opportunities with existing and new customers to broaden business opportunities

About you

• Trade Qualifications (mandatory)
• Driver's License (mandatory)
• Proficient in the ability to assess, repair and service a variety of compressors and vacuum pumps (medical air and suction systems)
• Relevant experience working autonomously and being self-directed working at customer's premises and within a workshop environment
• Relevant experience of working with both external and internal customer service
• Ability to demonstrate experience of accurate record keeping
• Excellent customer service skills
• Basic computer skills
• Electrical certificate (desirable)
• Fork Lift License (desirable)
